Our Story

The Lambda Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, was chartered Friday, February 26th, 1982 at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Thanks to the efforts and dedication from brothers of the Delta Xi Chapter (Albany State University), the chapter originally formed as a colony in the Spring of 1981 with seven members: James Barron, George M. Coleman, Melvin Mack, Julian B. Marshal, Milton S. Reeves, Robert Thornes and Carl White. This line would be known as the ‘swing line’ which proceeded the official charter line of Lambda Epsilon the following spring of 1982, which had eight initiates: Joseph Bryson, John Johnson, Rodie C. Lamb, Michael Mathis, Alden Q. Mitchell, Willie Postel, Jeffrey T. Sellers and Terrence T. Wright. These men, along with James Barron, Melvin Mack, Milton Reeves and Carl White are noted as the official chartering members of Lambda Epsilon. The Bishopville, Manning, Shaw AFB Alumni (SC) Chapter became the official advising chapter for Lambda Epsilon in 2018.
